The message
An old legend says a carp that swims up the great waterfall becomes a dragon. Your struggle against the current is not wasted; it is shaping you. Keep swimming. Every stroke counts.
Ask yourself
What waterfall am I climbing, and what is it turning me into?
The animal
Koi were first bred about 200 years ago in Niigata, Japan, from carp that villagers raised for food, and they can live for decades.
