The message
The Hoatzin smells like a cow, digests leaves like one, and its chicks have claws on their wings. It is one of the strangest birds alive, and it thrives. The thing that makes you different may be your strength.
Ask yourself
What “weird” part of me is actually my niche?
The animal
The hoatzin is the only bird known to ferment leaves at the front of its gut, much as cows do, which gives it a manure-like smell and the nickname stinkbird.
